Well, no, not really. My parents could hardly be considered visitors. For the last several years, instead of shipping the Christmas presents, my parents have driven down to drop them off. When they were working this used to mean a whiplash turn around for them to get back. Now that they’re retired they can take a few more days – although my mother’s job doesn’t always allow for a predictable break.
They drown up from London on Thursday and left to head back this morning. It’s always a nice visit. They have the extra bonus of seeing their youngest grandchild who is now nearly 3 months (Nov 20).

Okay, whoever came up with this fall back time change forgot to tell newborn babies that they are supposed to let their mommies sleep?!
Baby Brent (2 months and 2 weeks) woke at 12:30 and then again at 5:30 to be fed and changed. He hasn’t done a midnight feeding in a while – perhaps he’s in another growth spurt!

I’m not an early morning person – although my previous job life required it. Baby Brent has also kind of forced me into it with his feedings and inability sometimes to go back to sleep. So, I sit here at odd hours “working”.
This morning 7:30 isn’t really that odd, but what’s odd is I drug myself out of bed at 6:30. Yes, Brent was fussing, but it wasn’t time for him to eat, yet, and I didn’t try to put him back to sleep with the pacifier.
Now, if only I could teach my 12-year-old to kick himself out of bed even though he’s had less than the required hours of sleep!
