So, you're looking for a transcriptionist. You need someone with experience, integrity, professionalism, and reasonable prices. You've come to the right place. But, before we get discussing money, let's look at the job descriptions to help you decide the role you would like me to play.
Basically, I'm at your service. You tell me what you need and I provide that service for you--within reason. Below are more details about the skills at your disposal.
Please remember that these are guidelines. I tailor each contract, price, and payment plan to each client.
My Skills
My accurate typing speed of 100 words per minute, and editing eye allows me to produce work quickly and edit as I type.
I have over 10 years' experience transcribing in a variety of venues and industries (see My Experience tab for specifics), and requiring transcription of confidential material.
I also have experience transcribing many different accents: Nepalese, East Indian, South African, Australian, British, American (South).

File Transmissions
I am able to receive large files through my darscorrections email address. Compressed/zip files are also acceptable. Sending CDs/DVDs through the mail is also fine.
As an alternative, however, I would recommend signing up with dropbox.com for a free 2GB account (larger accounts are available for a nominal fee), which will allow you to create a file folder for the two of use to share where all either of us has to do to send a file is click and copy from our computer files to the shared file. It is completely secure and so easy to use - and so much cheaper than couriers! Yousendit.com is another easy alternative for sending larger files.
Transcription Definitions
Verbatim - As you hear it, but without ums and ahs and sentence stutters. Correct punctuation and paragraphing formats where appropriate. Speaker indicators and time indicators at least one per page. Inaudibles marked with (?) a time index and yellow highlighting. Breaks in sentences or trains of thought indicated with proper punctuation (commas or em dashes). Hesitations indicated with ellipses (...). Nuisance phrases can also be eliminated (you know, like, kind of, I mean)
Edited verbatim - Comments are restructured into proper sentences, with repetitions and nuisance phrases omitted.
Summary notes - Just the pertinent information jotted down. Can be word-for-word or summarized (eg: Mr. Morris commented that.... May or may not include Q&As (either word-for-word or summarized) - whatever information the client wishes me to focus on.
Rates
I charge:
$1.25 per recorded minute for summary notes
$1.67 per recorded minute for both verbatim and edited verbatim of a single voice or one-on-one interviews (2 people);
$2.50 per recorded minute for round-table discussions or recordings with more than 2 voices.
Hand-written files are charged at a rate of $3 per page provided.
Payment schedules are established depending upon each individual project, with invoices (including times worked) included at each stage as appropriate.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
I accept PayPal from anywhere in the world made in the major world currencies. (I use Canadian dollars in my pricing, but I will take those amounts in other major currencies as well - ex. Euros, Pounds, US Dollars.)
If you are in Canada or the US, I will also take a money order in US or Canadian funds. If you are in the US, please ensure that the money order does not say "non-negotiable outside the US and its possessions". You must purchase an "International" money order.
